General Information Manual & DI Sales and Marketng Plan

Agents who have a plan and follow it experience a much greater level of success than those who do not. Berkshire has published a DI Sales and Marketing Template agents can use to build a disability insurance plan for themselves.

We have also updated our DI Product Manual. There have been quite a few changes within the manual including the occupation classification guide, special limits for young professionals, professional overhead expense, group conversions, the CAT rider, and more.

Multi-Life Offers 10-19 Lives: Underwriting Parameters

In order to establish a minimum offer of $2,000 GSI coverage per employee on Multi-Life cases in which there are at least 10 insurable lives, the following parameters must be observed.

1. Demographics of the group must adhere to the following guidelines:
At least 10 insurable lives.
Occupations must fall into Berkshire's best classifications (4-6). Class 3 and below are not candidates for this offer.
Average issue age of the group cannot exceed 55.
Participant gender mix should not exceed 40% females younger than 40.

2. Retirement Protection Plus (RPP)is the only coverage available to groups in the medical market.

3. Coverage must be employer-paid.

4. The standard complement of riders and features is available with the following exceptions:
Zero day pre-existing conditions limitation is not available.
Extended mental and nervous coverage is not available.
Zero-day pre-existing and COLA are not available (except at underwriting discretion and requires prior underwriting approval).

5. Underlying LTD must be in place. If it is not in place, there must be an expressed interest in individually underwritten buy-up coverage.
