Common Disability Insurance Question - Do You Offer Gap Disability Insurance?

The short answer to this question is NO, Berkshire does not have a GAP disability insurance policy. The agents of Guardian Disability Insurance Brokerage are also not interested in providing you with a short term policy that you are planning on lapsing in a couple months. If you do that to one of the agents here, you will cost them thousands of dollars in renewal commissions, and that is not fair to do to anybody.

The only thing we would like for you to think about is, will you be healthy enough to get disability insurance next time you are not covered? We know most people do not work for one company their entire life, so what would happen if the next time you switched to another company they did not have a long term disability insurance plan for you at all? What would happen the next time you needed coverage, but were now uninsurable because of a pre-existing health condition?

The only way to make absolutely sure that you will always have some level of income protection is to purchase your own policy, that you will keep with you until you retire.
